After its emergence, and especially after a recent revamp and revitalisation, Bundek became a popular place among the inhabitants of Novi Zagreb for going on walks or swimming. It stretches along the northern edge of the residential area Novi Zagreb- East and it's located to the south of the River Sava, eastwards from the Bridge of Freedom (Most slobode), to the west from the Bridge of Youth (Most mladosti) and to the north from the residential areas Središće and Zapruđe.
Bundek has two lakes, of which the one that is larger, to the east, serves as a swimming area whereas the smaller one is kept only for birds and fish (ornitological reserve). The surface of the lake's western part amounts to 28.000 sqm, whereas the eastern part has 35.000 sqm. It's very easy to arrive at Bundek by public transport (ZET)- take tram lines 6,7 and 8 if you are coming from the east and the night tram 31 after midnight). If you are approaching from the west, you can take any bus that departs from the Main Station. Bundek is the first park to have opened in Zagreb after 50 years.
